I recently had the pleasure of spending a few nights at Bitou River Lodge over the Christmas period with my fiancée, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Nestled amid a serene citrus orchard, the lodge felt like a true escape with the lovely Bitou River right at our doorstep. Our host, Sue, was an absolute gem; her attention to detail in both hospitality and the breakfast spread left us feeling pampered each day. We particularly enjoyed lounging by the river, binoculars in hand, birdwatching and soaking up the tranquil surroundings, and I can only dream of the photo opportunities there! If you’re an adventure seeker, the location is perfectly positioned near Plettenberg Bay, making it easy to explore the stunning hiking trails at Robberg Nature Reserve and even catch a glimpse of dolphins on a boat trip—definitely a highlight for thrill-seekers like us! Bitou River Lodge isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a thoughtfully curated experience that beautifully marries nature and comfort. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with a generous sprinkle of adventure! We’re already planning our return.
